Easter Activites

Warning--- lots-o-photos ahead!! :)

Last weekend we dyed Easter Eggs. The kit the kids picked out was a Tie Dye kit and the eggs turned out really cool!

They really got into coloring their eggs this year.
Finished Eggs! And the flower pots are little pots I picked up at the Dollar Spot in Target a few weeks ago that they painted and put flowers in.

Friday night we traveled to Mt. Ayr to spend Easter weekend with my parents and sister and her family. Mom was just as excited as the kids and gave them their Easter baskets Friday night!

Running down the hall to get their baskets.

Digging in!

The big hit were the pointers that Mom bought at a book sale at school when she was subbing last week. The kids loved them and played school with them all weekend. And used them for other things also!

You can pick your friends. You can pick your nose. But you can't pick your friends nose......or maybe you can!!! :)

With Nana and Papa on Friday night.

Being silly!

Saturday was the Annual Easter Egg Hunt on the courthouse lawn. Here's Porter busy finding some treats.

Stella and Haydn were in the same age group this year.

After the Egg Hunt

With the hot mama's! The dad's didn't come down until Saturday afternoon.

Saturday night mom and dad had some friends over and it happened to be Rosie's (Steve's) 60th birthday! The 4 kids worked hard that afternoon and made him each a special birthday card.

Steve with the girls. Porter was not in the mood for a photo at this time!!

Wes not being very nice to his wonderful sister-in-law!!! LOL! :) I thought he'd fallen asleep in mom and dad's room with Haydn, but he wasn't sleeping when I snapped this photo!

Just had to add this b/c it was funny! I think Sara must of taken this. I was taking to Ron Beymer on the phone, I had to call him and ask him if he remembered when Andee lost her contact when we were in St. Louis then found it the following day. Britt---you remember that don't you????

The 3 Amigos

After church this morning, the Easter bunny found Nana and Papa's house. I love this photo b/c Haydn has her arms LOADED with eggs! Too cute.

And I just love this photo of Hannah for some reason, she looks so pretty and grown up!

Porter all smile after the Easter bunny's visit!I wanted a photo of the kiddos all dressed up in their Easter duds......Stella was having one of her *many* drama moments (!!!!!!!!) so she was not in this photo! She's 6 going on 16 that is fo' realz!

She finally calmed down 10 minutes later and wanted her picture taken!

Birds Nest

Porter made a Birds Nest today at school out of bran cereal, melted chocolate bark and jelly beans to resemble eggs. They usually do one cooking project a month. He's holding the "nest" in his hands. Close up, they turned out really cute!

Taking a bite. Stella offering some to Rex, Rex declined the offer! :)

Stella LOVES to jump rope!!

Fun Weekend!!

We had a fun-filled weekend accompanied by wonderful weather, which was great because Mike was in MN this weekend hanging with his buddy doing some upgrades to his buddy's house, so were able to keep really busy. Saturday we started off with a Fancy Nancy party at the library. Stella loves the Fancy Nancy books and was so excited to pick out her fancy outfit and all her accessories! It was really cute to see her get all "fancy." The library did a great job with the event, they started off by having a pink carpet down for the children to walk on. Learning to curtsy.
Mrs. Kelly (Stella's most favorite children's librarian) was the host of the event. She's on the left. And there was a special guest there also, Mrs. DeVine, who is Fancy Nancy's neighbor in the books. Mrs. DeVine did such a good job and the kids just loved her!
Stella and Mrs. DeVine
There were a few crafts/activities to do after the book readings. Stella worked really hard on her fancy bookmark.
So did Porter! He was a good sport, this really wasn't his cup of tea, but with Mike gone he had to come with us. He did enjoy the arts and crafts. :)
After we left the library we headed to the mall to see the Easter Bunny. I offered to take Stella home so she could change her clothes, but she wanted to wear her fancy clothes!
Of course they had to ride the train, waiting to pay for their tickets.
They always love to ride in the front car so they can ring the bell. :)
Today was Porter's first flag football practice. He was SO excited. I don't think he stopped smiling the entire time we were there!! His buddy Eric was on his team, Berlin wanted to get in the photo! Stella was still at Haydn's bday party. We had to leave a little early so Porter could make his practice. Luckily Sara lives 5 minutes from the practice fields. I wish I had pics from Haydn's party. She looked super cute and had a really fun party!
Running the ball
Working up a thirst

I ended up changing him into his shorts half way through the practice b/c it was so hot out, hence why he is wearing different pants!

Music and PE Day at Stella's school

Kindergarten parents were invited to Stella's school today to sit in on their music and PE classes. Stella didn't have a music concert of any kind this year, so it was neat to see what they have been learning all year and all I have to say is, music class has come along way since I was in grade school!! They are learning about a huge variety of things, I am so glad they had this event for the parents today. Stella's music teacher is on the left (I can't remember her name! and Stella is in bed right now so I can't ask her) and she has a student teacher, the man on the right. Here he is using a whistle to make different sounds and the children have to copy him. In a circle singing a song, Stella is holding her BFF's, Kaylen, hand.

This was a really cute song that had lots of actions to it, the kids loved it!

After music we moved to the gym for PE. The teacher had 5 or 6 stations set up with different activities to do at each stop. Parents were invited to play with their children at each station. That is Stella's kindergarten teacher, Ms. Bagley, sitting on the chair next to the wall.
Spider Ball was one of the stations, it was really cute game of throwing a ball that resembled a spider up in the air then catching it in a "web".
Porter also loved Spider Ball!
Who doesn't love rolling around on a scooter? :)
