Spring Break

We traveled to Florida for Spring Break this year. Our close friends have a condo just blocks from the beach and invited us down....we couldn't pass that up!! :) We had such a wonderful time soaking up the sun and experiencing what southern Florida has to offer.

I'm pretty sure the Davidson clan were the most pale people on the beach!!!!

5 kids buried in the sand

Going out for dinner the night of Stella's birthday

Tuesday we headed to Miami Seaquarium

Touching sting rays

One of the dolphin shows

Stella being eaten by an alligator!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh no, now the alligator has Mike!!!!!!!!!!!!

Killer Whale show

The following day we headed north to Ft. Lauderdale for a "jungle cruise" (no jungle was involved! LOL!). We did see some gorgeous homes. Mike and I decided to go ahead and purchase this small gem. I think it should be large enough for our family.

The boat we were on was a double decker and Stella and Berlin were so funny during the cruise. We were all on the lower level and the insisted on having their "alone" time and being on the top level! So funny! They thought they were so gornw up!

Once the boat got to the "jungle" there was an alligator show. It freaked Stella out and she and I had to leave the show, but I did snap a photo of the guy putting his hand in the alligators mouth.

The captain of the boat told us all about the mansions and yachts we were boating passed. We saw Steven Speilbergs yacht (the largest privately owned in the world), Tiger Woods' yacht (actually now it's his exwife's yacht!). As we were pulling back into the harbor I noticed this one yacht named "My Three Girls" (this is the best pic I could get), I thought maybe my Dad would be interested in buying this!!! LOL!

Eva fell asleep on the cruise ride back to the port.

Grabbing a bite to eat and drink.

Thursday morning Mike and Jeff took Stella, Porter, Berlin and Eric on a deep sea fishing excursion. It was a 4 hour tour and sounds like it was pretty rocky. P ended up puking, Stella and Berlin did not feel well at all. Even Jeff and Mike were getting nauseous. They all came around and ended up catching something.

Last day on the beach!

P found this as we were leaving the beach and insisted on a photo. :)

Stella turns 7!!!!!!!

So our little girl is 7!! Does not seem possible. It's amazing to think how much she has changed our life for the better. Our tradition of to have the number of balloons in their room on the morning of their birthday for how old they are turning. Since we were in Florida for her birthday I did the balloons in her room on the day of her party. Here she is with her 7 balloons and Porter with his orange balloon! :)

Mike was still in AZ on the day of her party and I'm SO thankful that Sara and Mom were able to help me out at her party. We had it at a bowling alley and invited the girls from her class along with Porter, Hannah and Haydn. It was fun and totally crazy all at once!! 7 year old girls are wild!!!!
Such form!!

The entire group, only 2 girls from her class were not able to make it.

Her cake

Who is ready for pizza, pop, cake and ice cream?!?!?!

We celebrated S's bday on St. Patricks day since we would be in FL for her bday and Mike was home by then.

The only thing she asked for was a wheelchair for her American girl doll. That is was Porter gave her.

The other major hit was her Rollerblades! She loves them and we've been SO fortunate to have awesome spring (summer like) weather for her to use them a lot already!

Finally updating!

Guess I took a long blog break! Now I'm back. I'll be updating with a few posts tonight, so stick with me. :)

In late February Porter had a Patriotic Parade at preschool. The kids sang 7 to 8 patriotic songs and said the Pledge of Allegiance. It was very cute and sweet. The children made the hats they are wearing and the flags they are waving.

Stella's class celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday in early March. One of their activities was each child being in charge of a hard boiled egg all day long without letting it crack (following the Horton storyline). Each child had to make a house for their egg at home out of recycled materials and bring it to school and carry their egg with them all day at school. The kids even had to pay their teachers to babysit the eggs at recess if they didn't want to take the eggs with them! Very cute! (They paid them with the tickets they earn during the week....not real money!!). Stella was one of 3 or 4 kids that paid the teacher to babysit....guess she wanted to play during recess and not be responsible for an egg! She really enjoyed this project.
