A couple weeks ago we went on a Spring Break trip with 2 other families. These are the families we tailgate with. We all have a boy in 3rd grade, they were in the same kindergarten class and over time we've gotten pretty close with their families.
Minnesota was our SB destination! We drove 8 hours north to Lutsen, MN it ski for a couple of days, just 50 miles from the Canadian boarder. The last 100 miles or so was along the shore of Lake Superior.
Lutsen was right on the lake. This is a view of the lake from our ski rental place.
Ready to ski!
Stella was a pro. She loved going on the more challenging slopes from the get go. On day 2, Porter was too. Mike had no fear. I did a few Blue slopes, but mostly stuck to the greens (wimp!).
All the kids at the tippy top of a mountain.
Ready to ski down the mountain.
On day 2 Mike and P started out snowboarding. Mike ended up snowboarding all day and not skiing at all. Porter went down a slope once on his snowboard and switched back to skies to be able to hang with his friends.
Looking good!
Proud of this boy!
Family photo
The whole group. I guess Stella wants to be a Thornton or a Staudt since she wasn't standing with us, but in the middle of their families. LOL
After skiing one day we went to the pool. Mike dared the kids to run outside and climb the structure in their swimsuits. He's my 3rd child.
Warming up in the hot tub.
We had a sauna in the townhouse we rented. The kids LOVED it. Ryan taking one for the team and watching them.
After Lutsen, and driving through a huge snowstorm, we headed to Minneapolis for a couple of days. Checking into our hotel, how many kids can fit on a luggage cart?!
I have a friend who was able to hook us up with discounted tickets to the Mall of America's amusement park. We hit that up after we checked into the hotel.
All the kids kids, except for the little one Grant, rode The SpongeBob for the first time. It ended up being a favorite, it goes upside down.
Bumper cars.
They had a lot of fun.
Loved getting texts from our cat sitter!
The last day we had hit up the indoor water park. These are the only pics I took.
Stella on the FlowRider.
WIPEOUT!
Porter's turn.
The day after we got home was Stella's 11the birthday. Doesn't seem possible that she is 11!
With the 11 balloons that were her room when she woke up.
Blowing out the candles on her dessert pizza.
This past week brought Easter activities. Dying eggs.
Beautiful kids before Easter mass.
Mike was digging into the leftovers mom sent with us before we even made it home.
